Asylum Patients, also called Captives, are an enemy in MADNESS: Project Nexus.
Asylum Patients are test subjects used by Nexus Core in their Sleepwalker patient experiments. They are first introduced in the level "Seeking Asylum". Asylum Patients have their arms strapped to their sides and have bruises and cuts on their head, mostly likely from abuse. They primarily attack by tackling or headbutting their foes; all behavior eerily similar to an Abomination. Also like Abominations they have a high chance of freeing their arms from their bindings if knocked down, though they are much less likely to survive the process. When freed, they have a grunt fighting style and will go berserk.
Personality
They act like the stereotypical depiction of insane asylum patients in media and say random things and claim to hear voices. They share some berserk quotes from the Merczerker, but one of their quotes when going berserk is, "It...it's happening" meaning they are aware of their state. In levels, the only time they have unique dialogue, is when they ask the players to let them go, only to attack them immediately afterwards.
