Template:Character statusNexus Core Supports (Or NEXUS Supports for short) are one of the NEXUS Core units intorduced in MADNESS: Project Nexus. They are heavily armored Nexus Soldier brutes who are specialized melee combats, and most notably wield the breachmare blunt weapon. They are all voiced by Gianni Matragrano.
Story Mode
They are first introduced in the Commercial Sector stage Deep Storage, where they tag along NEXUS Agents in squads to oppose Hank and Dr. Christoff in their journey within the underground facilities of the Commercial Sector.
Afterwards, they may naturally spawn within the Commercial Sector's hub, engaging escaped asylum patients, fanatics or the player character between stages.
Arena Mode
Nexus Supports appear as recurrent enemies in the Infiltration stage Nexus Core Facility, where they spawn alongside NEXUS Riot Guards.
Appearance
Nexus Support wear the standard Nexus Core uniform suit covered by a heavy set of armor with large, dual pauldrons, a dark grey balaclava with a Nexus Support mask on top, a breating apparatus connected to an air tank to their back and an ammo belt. They are notably bigger than their Nexus peers but smaller than G03LMs.
Ablities
NEXUS Supports sport heavy armor that greatly reduces the damage they receive from enemies and they come equipped with deadly breachmares, which they swing heavily and slowly, making their attacks easy to dodge, but very capable of driving a struck opponent into the ground or dizzied.
When Nexus Supports receive severe damage, they will enter a dizzied state allowing the player to execute them. They can also be dizzied like other enemies with flashbangs or blunt heavy swings, although their higher endurance stats make them less prone to dizzying by these methods.
Trivia
- They are the only NEXUS Core soldier unit to lack any sort of characterization via cutscenes or pop-up dialogue post-release.
- They do not appear as often as other nexus core units.
- its unknown why they are so big compared to other NEXUS units.
- It's plausible that the ammunition pack they wear is used to resupply other NEXUS units because they do not wield guns.
