Mr. M, the Zed Merchant, also possibly Mystery Dude or The Stalker, is a character introduced in MADNESS: Project Nexus, although his Zed form doesn't appear anywhere in the game.

In the scrapped Zed Survival mode he was supposed to be a Zed, but, unlike other zeds, he retains his sapience and sells his wares he collected from corpses.

Story Mode

Early in the Story Mode, specifically after the first level, you can find a gas station with a basement inside. Mr. M, disguised as the Mystery Man, notices Hank and flees, claiming something "isn't ready yet". Exploring the basement reveals drawings made by Mr. M, depicting different story events depending on how much into the game you've progressed.

Burger Gil Arg

Mr. M also appears in the shorts Stalker mp4 and On The Wall.mp4, however he appears as a regular Nevadean, though with the same clothes he still has in the present. He is implied to have some form of connection with Project Nexus, as seen when he observes the lead science team through a window and witnessing the fall of the residential sector due to the Zed Outbreak. He also seems to play a major role in the Burger Gil Arg.

Trivia

• Originally he was a fan-made character that won the Kickstarter's Story Mode Character Contest.
• It is heavily implied that Mr M. is The Maker, since they have the same clothes and seem to be a mysterious figure similar to them, as well as possessing the same type font, color, and voice samples.
