Appearances

The purgatory dimension is the location of the "Deimos Adventure" series, going from CHASE.fla to DedmosRebuilt.fla.

Like the Auditor's Hell, it is a world of chaos and destruction, with rocky landmasses floating in an endless void. It also features puddles of darkness, chains that can appear out of thin air and gravity-controlling levers. Purgatory is both part of The Other Place and serves as a more traditional version of "hell" than the Auditor's Hell that is also in The Other Place, as slyly hinted at by Krinkels and the reoccurring motif of "two soda cans".

Interestingly, the dimension seems to warp based on events that happened in Nevada. In SACRIFICE.fla, Deimos found himself in a dilapidated mirror-version of The Bakery! from Madness Combat 3: Avenger, experiencing flashing images of the past showing Tricky, Hank, Jesus, the Sun and the Sheriff from the same episode.

In ANAMNESIS.fla, he sees what appears to be Sanford transforming into a demonic version of himself that resembles Sanford's appearance in Madness Combat 11: Expurgation. This Sanford makes a specific sound when punching the wall that only appears again when weapons flew out of Sanford in Madness 11.

The faces of some A.T.P. engineers in POWERLESS.fla flicker between their normal selves and their enhanced versions from Madness Combat 9: Aggregation; when killed, one changes entirely to resemble Deimos wearing an A.T.P.-Mask (as he did to try and prank Sanford earlier in the episode). A mirrored version of the open air area of the mountain facility is also seen.

The Purgatory seems also to create illusions of characters that can be interacted with, like a purgatory version of Hank in SACRIFICE.fla, a version of Sanford in ANAMNESIS.fla and a version of Deimos in POWERLESS.fla. All of these illusions are dying in some way, Sanford even twice.

Posters

As in the main series, the posters and scribbles on the wall seem to be a form of communication by some sort of Higher Powers or from the dimension itself, like: "REMEMBER; you have been here before" or "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE HERE; you are embedded". In one case they seemingly reflect Deimos' thoughts like: "WAS THERE A DOOR HERE? I DO NOT REMEMBE..." In the final episode, DedmosRebuilt.fla, there are also posters from 2BDamned telling Deimos to "stop moving so much" so he can be rescued, and warning him "try not to drag hell back in with you".
