The tantō is a traditional Japanese short sword that was worn by the samurai class during feudal Japan. It was originally designed as a weapon but has become more embellished over time.

Appearances

Madness Combat 9.5

During an outside scene in Madness Combat 9.5 part 1, an agent with a tantō was killed by Hank's Uzi Pro. Several seconds later, another agent wielding a tantō was killed by Hank (this time with his M-416).

A third agent wielding a tantō appears in the next room Hank walks into. However, he is also easily dispatched by Hank's dragon sword. When a retainer enters the room, this tantō is picked up by Hank, but is dropped when the retainer punches him out of the room.

Tantō also appears in part 2, being used by several agents, who were easily killed by Hank. At one point Hank steals an agent's tantō and proceeds to kill two agents with it. The weapon also appears in the hands of a Soldat, who clashed blades with Hank, resulting in Hank losing the Retainer's spike. However, Hank steals the soldat's tantō, kills him and another agent, and throws the sword at the Retainer, who blocks the attack, making the sword kill a nearby agent.

Madness Combat 11: Expurgation

A tantō makes a brief appearance towards the end of Madness Combat 11, where it is being wielded by a Tricky skeleton. This skeleton is killed when Hank bludgeons him to death with another skeleton.

Madness Combat 12

In a teaser for an A.T.P. soldat with a sword and a shield a tantō can be seen on the ground. It's possible that in that frame in the final product, the tantō will go offscreen.
