Appearances

The Mossberg 500 is a pump action shotgun that uses the 12 Gauge Shotgun shell. It was one of the common firearms seen in the early Madness Combat episodes. In Madness Combat 4, 6.5, 8, and 10, it appears with a fore grip attached for faster pumping. It is one of the three shotguns that appear in Madness Combat 7: Consternation (the other two being the Remington 870 and the semi-auto shotgun). Mag Agent: Torture is armed with a Mag-sized one that shoots 20kg Mag-sized slugs. The Mossberg 500 reappears with a redesign in ANAMNESIS.fla, wielded by an A.T.P. soldat.

In MADNESS: Project Nexus, the shotgun returns once again in it's sawed-off configuration much like it's appearance in Madness Combat 6.5. It has been renamed to the Chop Pump 5 12 Gauge or CP-5 In some cases and is Sanford's primary weapon for his "A" loadout. In Arena Mode it is unlocked upon the completion of Fast Track and is found in The Goods in the hands of Toadies frequently.

Trivia

  • In Madness Combat 2: Redeemer and Madness Combat 3: Avenger, Hank fires this gun semi-automatically, although it is a pump-action shotgun in real life. In later episodes that feature the gun, it is fired in a pump-action manner.
    • This is also the case in MADNESS: Project Nexus, where it is fired and reloaded as if it were a semi-automatic box-fed shotgun.
